Phase 1, Post 9: Public Transit and Ableism

Ableism is discrimination against disabled people. The author goes through a possibility of a better transportation and transit system for people who are disabled. She also mentions the current state of NYC Transit systems and how they accommodate for the disabled. She points out the inconvenience of the putrid elevators. There should be a better way for people to get around and is convenient for all. Grossman suggests to have "utilizing the existing fleet more efficiently while providing on-demand services, as more people would use paratransit if it provided trackable and on-demand service – thereby improving the quality of service".
